Interview schedule for filling up of vacancies for posts of Botanical Assistant in office of Botanical Survey of India has been released by SSCWR (Staff Selection Commission, Western region).

35 candidates have been shortlisted for the interview. The same is scheduled to be held on 15.12.2014 from 9:00 am to 12:00 hours in Mumbai.

Requirements for the interview:

The shortlisted candidates are expected to come with their call letters in original and also need to carry original copies of various certificates along with a Xerox copy of the documents duly attested by any Gazetted Officer.

The candidates are specifically required to bring:

  1. Matriculation/High School/Higher Secondary School or equivalent certificate which would have been issued by the State or Central Board of School Education. Any certificate issued by Principal of the school where the candidate has studied will not suffice. The certificate should have a mention of birth date of the candidate.
  2. The candidates should also bring along any Degree/Post Graduate Degree or Diploma certificate which they have completed. Detailed mark sheets as claimed by the candidates to have mentioned while filling the application for the position also need to be brought along.
  3. Those candidates who are appearing as a Departmental Candidate should bring along necessary certificates from their departments.

Qualification for post of Botanical Assistant

The candidates who have an M.Sc degree in Botany or 1st class B.Sc (Honours) with Botany or IInd class in B.Sc with Botany and having three years experience are eligible for the position of Botanical Assistant.

The candidates should have an aptitude for botanical research and should have some matching field experience to suffice for field studies to be carried at any stage of the job. Working knowledge of floral diversity of western India is desirable for the post of Botanical Assistant. The successful candidate will be required to travel to the field for data collection, herbarium preparation and other similar tasks as deemed fit for the post.

Those who have worked in similar capacities in public and private sector should bring all the related experience certificates along to be verified at the time of the interview.
