SSC CGL examination results announcement
Staff Selection Commission, also known as SSC, is an Indian organization to employ staff for various posts in the different ministries and departments of the Indian government and in their subordinate offices. The SSC conducts exams every year to select candidates. After the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam 2013, that is Re-Exam for Tier-2 candidates, the results have been released. The list in the website carries both the candidates who have been qualified and also those who have not been qualified. The SSC conducts this exam for selecting the candidates for the several technical and non-technical posts of group B and C respectively. The entrants prepared for the exam that was held in March-April 2014 for all applicants. The exam was conducted in two levels, basically the Prelims and the Mains. The question paper would be divided into two parts for the prelims. The first one, Part A, would comprise of general intelligence and general awareness, totaling for about 100 questions, each with a value of one mark. The next one, Part B, would be arithmetic, which would also have 100 questions for a value of one mark each. This totals 200 marks of Part A and Part B. The duration of the exam is 4 hours in total, giving out 2 hours for Part A and 2 hours for Part B.
In the Part A, under the general intelligence, the entrants were tested under verbal and non-verbal questions on analogies, problem solving, analysis, spatial visualization, decision making and judging the same, observation, discrimination, and the like. In the general awareness category, the candidates were tested on history, geography, culture, general research, politics, economic scenario, and the like. Under the Arithmetic section, the students were analyzed on number system, whole numbers, percentage, ratio and proportion, decimal and fractions, averages, profit and loss, graphs and tables, simple interest, time and distance, and the mathematical expressions concerning the same. The SSC Main exam 2014 was conducted for selecting the candidates for the post of Assistant Grade, Inspectors of Central Excise, Central Bureau of Investigation, Income Tax, etc. The exam has two forms, one is written and the other is an interview for the posts specified.
